Job Description

    Job Purpose:To manage and handle all legal aspects related to collections for the Commercial Vehicle (CV) portfolio in the assigned area. The role involves managing recovery litigation, arbitration, police complaints, and legal support to the collections team.Key Responsibilities:
    • Legal Recovery:
      • Initiate and monitor legal action for recovery of dues under Section 138 NI Act, SARFAESI, Arbitration, Civil Suits, etc.
      • Handle recovery proceedings including filing and follow-up of legal notices, recovery suits, and execution petitions.
      • Coordinate with panel advocates, ensure timely filing and updates of legal cases.
    • Litigation Management:
      • Maintain and update the litigation tracker and MIS.
      • Represent the organization in court or coordinate with external legal counsel for hearings.
      • Review and approve legal documentation to ensure compliance.
    • Police Liaison:
      • File and follow-up on police complaints and FIRs for vehicle repossession, fraud, and cheque bounce cases.
      • Maintain effective liaison with local police authorities for recovery support.
    • Legal Advisory:
      • Advise collections and business teams on legal matters related to delinquent accounts.
      • Provide preventive legal support to minimize future litigation.
    • Vendor Management:
      • Identify, empanel, and regularly review performance of legal vendors and advocates.
    • Reporting and Documentation:
      • Ensure proper documentation for all legal actions taken.
      • Prepare periodic reports on legal cases and recovery status.
    Qualifications:
    • LLB / LLM from a recognized university
    • Enrolled with the Bar Council
    • Minimum 58 years of experience in legal recovery, especially in NBFC/BFSI/Automobile financing
    Key Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong understanding of recovery laws, litigation process, and enforcement mechanisms
    • Good drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage external counsel and coordinate across departments
    • Knowledge of the local language and familiarity with Rajkot legal ecosystem preferred
