Job Description

    Designation: Development Incharge(Reports to: Production Head / Technical Head | Department: Product Development / Tooling) Job Description (JD):The Development Incharge is responsible for overseeing the entire new product development cyclefrom die/tool making to first sample approvalensuring that all activities are carried out as per the approved drawing and quality standards. This role bridges the gap between the design, tooling, production, and QC teams to bring new components from concept to validated samples.Key Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate die/tool making process as per customer drawing and technical requirements.
    • Plan and execute development timelines for new products or modifications.
    • Ensure all dimensions and tolerances are maintained as per drawing during trial casting/machining.
    • Conduct and coordinate first piece inspection and validation with QC team.
    • Manage documentation including PPAP, FAI reports, and drawing change records.
    • Communicate with the design, pattern, and production teams to resolve any trial issues.
    • Track progress of all active development jobs and provide regular updates to management.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
    • Die/Tool Development Tool Ready vs Plan Date 95% On-Time Weekly
    • Sample Execution No. of Trials per Sample 2 Per Development
    • Drawing Adherence First Pass Dimensional Accuracy 95% Each Sample
    • First Sample Approval Time Taken for Approval (Days) 7 Days Per Job
    • Documentation PPAP / FAI Completion & Filing 100% Per Job
    Experience Required:
    • 5 to 8 years of experience in new product development, preferably in investment casting, die casting, or precision component manufacturing.
    • Hands-on experience with tooling/die processes, pattern development, and engineering drawings.
    Skill Set:
    • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.
    • Proficiency in coordinating die making, trials, and inspection workflows.
    • Familiarity with metrology tools (CMM, height gauge, micrometer, etc.)
    • Project management skills with ability to track multiple development timelines.
    • Strong coordination and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
    • Knowledge of documentation protocols like PPAP, FAI, and change management.
