Job Description

  • To supervise all the mechanical works in the workshop and on site and assist the mechanical foreman in the follow up and technical analysis upon need
  • Troubleshoot the equipment by eliminating possibilities and defining the efficient and correct repair sequence
  • In case of major repairs involving engine overhaul, he is to decide based on the outcome of the machine shop report, about the grinding, facing and cleaning options of the engine major components
  • Perform regular audits to work site (three to four times a week) to inspect equipment conditions, program to stop breakdown machines that require immediate attention
  • To assure that the maintenance program is implemented in the proper way and accurately on time to all machines
  • Prepare the order of spare parts and follow up its procuring with procurement office and cuo-pmv
  • Follow up the pending orders with appropriate personnels and with suppliers if needed
  • Inspect newly purchased spare parts for quality and price according to the standard recognized by the pmv department and approve usage
  • Check the machines after their release and make sure that the equipment is ready for work, tested and in good condition prior to transferring it to another site along with all related documents (mvpi, istimarah, history file, etc.) Its stock of spare parts if available
  • Maintains records of the newly purchased fleet concerning their warranty expiry dates. Whenever a breakdown takes place, he is to decide, in liaision with the head office and plant manager, whether the machine has to be transferred to the agent for repair or already its warranty is banned
  • Prepare a monthly report to the pmv manager including the breakdown report and details of all the repairs and services done on site during that period
  • Perform site inspections to assure that the periodic service is performed properly on all machines
  • Supervise all the clerical work and the data entry (later on in the new erp software)
  • In case of non available spare parts, he is entitled to go to the local market and locate alternative solutions using potential usable similar parts. Consequently he has to advise alteration process required to be performed on the machine by third parties as an alternative solution.
