StrategyDepartment:Technology TransferPosition Title:Sr Mgr / Mgr Detail Engineering.Level: J3/M1Reporting to (Title): Sr. GM-Detailed Engg.The Position will be responsible for designing and detail engineering of engineering projects for fine-chemical business.This would include finalisation of data sheets, technical proposals, equipment sizing and selection, Equipment Layout finalisation, preparing detail engineering package, and pre-commissioning activity at site as when required.Strategic ResponsibilitiesBasic work for document transfer schedule for new projects being commercialised to meet the timeline.Participation in the meetings & provide inputs as & when required by Dept. head.Operational ResponsibilitiesManage engineering projects of various sizes in utility and process plant.Should have good design knowledge of Steel structure, Pressure vessels, heat exchangers, all types of pumps, compressors, High pressure Boiler, Cooling towers, Chillers, HVAC etcSizing, selection and design finalization for Carbon steel, Stainless steel and plastic equipmentSizing and selection of various CS, SS and lined pipe and pipe fittingsShould have commissioning and troubleshooting experience of process and utility plantsShould have knowledge of various engineering codes and standards like IBR regulation for installation and selection of high pressure boiler IS, ASME, ASHRAE, DIN and API etcPrepare and review of equipment specification and technical discussion with vendorsReview of vendor proposals, specifications and finalization of ordering specificationsReview of vendor drawing and technical documents proposals, specificationsLead a project team to ensure project deliverables on timeWork with project execution team in close loop to deliver all the detail engineering documentsEnsure quality and cost control during the design and procurement of equipment sPrepare and finalization of utility P&ID and plant equipment layoutPrepare and understand the piping layout, Piping GA and correct piping BOQUnderstand and approve the structural drawing.Understand the structural BOQ.Knowledge of SAP and MS-ProjectsInterdepartmental co-ordinationFinancial ResponsibilitiesCost estimation of project based on P&IDs.Monitoring of project schedules and project cost to track work progress, budget status.People ResponsibilitiesHandover of all engineering documents to site before start pre-commissioning.Continuously improve the equipment specification to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiencyParticipate in selection of highly qualified basic and detailed engineering team.Identify training and development needs.Education QualificationB.E. Mechanical /B. Tech Mechanical from IIT/NIT/Reputed Gov.
