Job Description

deputy manager production in chennaiClient is a leading MNC in Automotive industry Job title: Deputy Manager Production Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all areas of production, maintenance and material control.
  • Plans labor requirements for production schedules based on the material control information to assure timely changes and efficient use of people and equipment.
  • Coordinates various production operations to ensure proper workflow through the plant.
  • Maintains production schedules, balance value of material on stock, monitors operating costs, and ensures employee safety.
  • Identifies and resolves root causes for scrap.
  • Selects, trains, and supervises Group Leaders, material control and maintenance people.
  • Controls the manufacturing process according to approved methods and quality standards; assures that units are within standard costs.
  • Administer department budget; review performance of department personnel and recommend or approve salary adjustments.
  • Mentors the Production Team in MPS to ensure continuing development and use of the MPS principles throughout the facility.
  • Improve/maintain technical competency via the hiring process and PMP process.
  • Maintain launch plans and ensure that regular launch meetings with key Plant and/or Racine personnel are scheduled and held.
  • Monitor capacity utilization to ensure OEE conformance and maintain 1 year and 5 year capacity plan. Work closely with production on capacity issues/opportunities.
  • Monitor and ensure that all processes meet capability requirements.
  • Establish and monitor labor standards for accuracy and issues. Coordinate with production on variance issues.
Qualification
  • Bachelor degree plus minimum 8-10 years experience with manufacturing and material control.
