Job Description

Project Planner IN, Chennai | Professional | Full-Time | ID: 22739Vestas is the world leader in wind technology and a driving force in the development of the wind power industry. Come and join us at Vestas!Aerodynamic & Mechanical > Nacelle Module > Nacelle Project ManagementThe Nacelle Project Management Department consists of +10 highly skilled and qualified Project Managers and Planners in three different sites (India, Portugal, and Denmark). The department is responsible for the portfolio management and execution of projects in the Nacelle Module where we have +200 employees across several sites. We are responsible for the full lifetime of the product and therefore projects can be both Technology Projects, New Product Development and Projects to support the Operational part of the Business. The Nacelle Module is primarily developing Structural and Mechanical components within the sub-modules Baseframe and Yaw, Rear Structure and Internals, Cooling and Conditioning, Transport, Construction and Maintenance, Modularized Nacelle, and Cover.Responsibilities

  • Build a project plan structure & ensure planning level connection
  • Conduct detailed project planning & scheduling from business activity (level A) to Work Package & task (level C), looking 3-6 months ahead
  • Follow up on the team to secure delivery as promised and maintain and update project plan
  • Support project manager in understanding and communicating the project plan elements and progress including critical path analysis
  • Support project team in time estimation based on historical data for standard tasks and deliverables
  • Update budgets and resource demands towards the line organizations in SAP to secure alignment between the project and line organization
  • Follow-up on financial planning and actuals
Qualifications
  • Bachelors / Masters in any specialization (Engineering / Business)
  • Proficient in Project Planning tools - SAP PPM, Microsoft Project, JIRA
  • Project management education or relevant project management training courses
  • Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in project planning in complex global matrix organizations
  • Experience with supporting several projects simultaneously
  • Great language skills (verbal and written) in English are required

  • You are methodical, detail oriented, and highly structured
  • You are enthusiastic, result-oriented and have a good sense of responsibility
  • You have good interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Stage Gate Way execution, combined with agile execution using e.g., scrum
  • You are motivated in working with advanced project management tools and project performance metrics
