NI will respond to the ever-increasing demand for networks with higher capacity, greater reliability, faster speeds, and lower costs.Job DescriptionThe role we are searching for belongs to Optics network engineering delivery team that is responsible end-to-end to deliver all Optical professional services starting from the network design till validation of new solutions and implementation in customer network. This team works directly and closely with Professional Services PLMs to understand customer professional services requirements, translate them into deliverables and works across all the ION functions to lead, develop and deliver on-time results to our customers We currently have a position as Optics Network Management System (NMS) engineer. He/she will be engaged in activities that include NMS installations, Upgrade activitiesThis team works directly and closely with Professional Services, TAC and NPI to understand customer professional services requirements, translate them into deliverables and works across all the ION functions to lead, develop and deliver on-time results to our customers.Job Responsibilities & CompetenciesServe as SME for NMS activities for Optical portfolio Perform OS installations, upgrades and migration Perform NMS application installations, upgrades, backup and restore Capable to develop MOPs as per the requirement Deliver NMS related Professional services on site/remote Define test cases based on customer specific scenarios and execute acceptance tests Support PM/TPM during project execution providing technical support as per SoW Support PLM during the offer phases to clarify the needs, assess feasibility and identify the related effort/ costsQualificationsShould have Expert Level Working knowledge of Optical products. Experience in Optical NMS/EMS and on Optical Transmission equipment s, preferably on Alcatel-lucent transport product line (DWDM-PSS/OTN) OS platform experience, Windows, Unix, Linux kernel, Solaris, Redhat, CentOS experience in installation, integration and Migration of network management systems Service Creation experience on NMS & NEs Capable to understand & troubleshoot customer deployments and networks using NMS Expertize in various Optical technologies like DWDM, OTN, GMPLS/GMRE etc Experience in creating automation frameworks, scripting knowledge on Linux OS Team player: Capable to work in a team in project environment; Bachelors Degree in Telecommunications or related IT field 8-12 years experience in Transport networks The ability and willingness to travel as per project requirements High communication and presentation skills
