DIMENSION & SCOPE:- Senior BI Reporting DeveloperThe IT Business Intelligence Senior Reporting Developer resource will work in the Business Intelligence team focusing on design, development, testing, and implementation of all Oracle BI (OBIEE) Application, Power BI, and other BI reporting tools.The developer will be responsible coordinating solution delivery with Ciena s internal customer base and source application leads, as well as insuring overall data quality and efficiency associated with BI reporting solutions. This person will also be responsible coordinating production support activities as needed with IT and business stakeholders.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for leading/developing Oracle BI (OBIEE) Application and Power BI report solutions including related Data Warehouse designs, report and dashboard components - for solution deliveries related to the Business Intelligence space.Responsible for leading best practice BI report development design efforts to continually improve solution delivery.Responsible for creation of new and maintenance of existing reports, dashboards, and related SQL/data warehouse constructs. Major emphasis on report design and usability (aka user experience).Partner with business teams such as Supply Chain, HR, Purchasing, Logistics, Services, Sales, and Finance to understand and define business requirements.Demonstrate the ability to lead/develop quality technical reporting solutions to support business requirements. Must be able to manage development using agile and other development practices.Maintain peer relationships across IT areas (infrastructure, operations, etc.) to support effective implementationsCoordinate with the Project and Development teams to review new functionalities and develop test scenariosEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or IT related field (or minimum 5 years of hands-on, relevant, technical work experience). Emphasis on database and analytics tracks preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience supporting or implementing BI reporting solutions using OBIEE or PowerBI.Minimum 3 years of database query development on Oracle and optionally SQL Server. Must be highly skilled in all aspects of query development including performance tuning.CANDIDATE PROFILEDemonstrated experience OBIEE report development. Must be able to speak to sample reports developed in the past and be able to describe technical activities surrounding the development and evolution of the report.* Demonstrated experience both maintaining and enhancing existing reporting solutions and to develop innovative solutions from scratch using the right reporting solution.Demonstrated knowledge of analyzing business processes and transactional data systemsDeep understanding of Oracle data base operations such as table indexing, partitioning, SQL tuning and Oracle standard compressionStrong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging reporting / BI technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activitiesStrong team player collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sourcesDemonstrated customer focus evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customerBuilds strong customer relationships and creates processes with customer viewpointStrong analytical and strong problem-solving skills candidate must be able to work effectively in with both the maintenance and change of as-is existing solutions as well as lead the definition for new ETL data areas.Communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisionsAnticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolveChange oriented actively generates process improvements, supports and drives change and confronts difficult circumstances in creative ways.MUST have :- OBIEE + Datawarehousing Concepts + ETL Concepts + End to End Investigation Skills + Acumen for Development & Bug FixingGood to have :- Informatica Power Center + Power BI + Oracle EBS FunctionalRewarding experience.
