That s why our engineers design and implement technologies that allow people to do great things.With customer, proven capabilities, the Ciena Packet Networking team is enhancing and advancing Carrier Ethernet, Routing and MPLS capabilities to take advantage of worldwide market opportunities as Service Providers virtualize their networks, unify their legacy networks, and prepare for 5G.We re looking for an experienced, motivated and talented individual interested in progressing their career in advanced L2/IP/MPLS switching features, while learning to leverage the disruption taking place with SDN, NFV and virtualized routing systems. You will take an experienced and influential role contributing to advancing next generation L2/IP/MPLS capabilities focused on service provider, carrier grade capability, scale and reliability.Experience / Skill Required:

  • 1 years of experience with Bachelor s/ Master s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent).
  • Excellent C programming skills with strong debugging and trouble shooting skills over Linux platform. Knowledge of Linux IP networking stack is a bonus.
  • Relevant exp. in any of the below areas:
A. Exposure to MPLS/IP packet forwarding, L2VPN, L3VPN, Signalling (LDP/RSVP-TE), MPLS OAM (BFD), Segment Routing is a bonus.B. Exposure to Broadcom Data Path (XGS / DNS Family).C. Exposure to MPLS control plane protocols & MPLS data path, involving advanced MPLSD. Concepts: MPLS-TP, RSVP , Pseudowires (TDM PW) , BFD, VPLS, VPWS, RSVP-TE, T-LDP , EVPN, L3 VPN , MPLS QOS, BGP, Ethernet/MPLS services and network virtualization is required.E. Exposure to Ethernet, VLAN, L2 switching, Ethernet QoS such as metering, coloring, CoS mapping, CIR/EIR, CBS/EBS, WRED, scheduling, shaping etc. is required.
  • Good written and verbal communication. Self-starter with a strong can do belief, who can work in a dynamic environment with little supervision.
General Activities
  • Participate in software design, development, validation, and documentation to deliver high quality, functionally excellent products.
  • Trouble shoot issues. Identify root cause, debug & deliver robust timely fixes.
  • Prototype and characterize features and capture statistical data for design assessment.
