About the opportunityDepartment DescriptionThe data value team within the central data function is facilitating the adoption of a data led culture at FIL. Senior business leaders struggle to get access to the right data, MI/insights and analytics for key functional problems. The data value team is a central team made up of different data capabilities such as analytics, MI, data engineering and business analysis and helps different departments define the right MI and Analytics. The Central data function provides significant data and reporting services to different consumers and departments across Fidelity. These services include establishing data governance processes, meta data and data quality management, data architecture, data lake (Snowflake) and API s adoption along with development of new reporting and analytical applications.Purpose of your roleThis is a challenging opportunity for data professionals who are able to understand the requirements for Data and Analytics and work with the product owners and analysts in the team to design and deliver solutions for data sourcing. Working as a practitioner/engineer in Data landscape, you will need to utilise your experience to assist with the engineering aspects, design, definition, exploration and delivery of end-to-end solution to service the data needs for generating analytics and insights. Your work outcomes should meet all business and operational readiness requirements with the highest standards of quality and responsiveness. All solution implementations should be highly compliant to leading edge DevOps practices in the industry. The candidate should have a sound understanding of data management and design including and not limited to ETL architecture, database technologies, data modelling, data quality, performance management, etc. while demonstrating a keenness to master, suggest and work with different technologies & toolsets. The role would also involve intensive interaction with the business and other systems groups, so good communication skulls and the ability to work under pressure are absolute must.Key Responsibilities

• This position requires a strong self-starter with solid technical engineering background and influencing skills, one who loves use of tech & engineering for solving business problems, can assist colleagues with design, best practices, troubleshooting and other technical challenges related to implementation of a critical business / customer facing proposition.
• Create and maintain optimal data pipeline design and code. Assemble large complex data sets that meet functional/non-functional business requirements.
• Working with product owners and business stakeholders - identify design and implement internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability etc.
• Build infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation and loading of data from wide variety of data sources using SQL and AWS technologies.
• Ensure delivery in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner but without compromising quality.
• Work with support teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.

Experience and Qualifications

• BE / B-Tech / MCA
• 8 - 10 years of total experience,

Technology Skills and Experience

• Developer with hands-on experience to build data integrations from various data sources. This involves designing and developing data extraction/loading, processing and integration.
• Write code for functional stories, test cases, infra automation script, security scripts, monitoring tools and other related use cases.
• Deep expertise in Java/Python, Oracle/SQL Server and strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured data sets.
• Deep knowledge on UNIX system architecture
• Strong hold on networking core concepts.
• Hands on experience with Unix Scripting/Python
• Expertise on CI/CD pipelines and with DevOps tools like Jenkins/Ansible etc.
• Working knowledge on APIs, caching and messaging
• Experience in software delivery and agile methodologies.
• Experience delivering on data related non-functional requirements like
  • Hands-on experience dealing with large volumes of historical data across markets/geographies.
  • Manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
  • Building water-tight data quality gates on investment management data
  • Generic handling of standard business scenarios in case of missing data, holidays, out of tolerance errors etc.

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge & practical experience building applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS) (or
• other public Cloud platforms like GCP /Azure)
• Knowledge of AWS and its various services, primarily EC2, VPC, IAM, Serverless offerings, RDS, R53, CloudFront
• Learnability- Ability to collectively push the boundary & pioneer the adoption and industrialisation of
• emerging data technologies in the organisation. Passion for growing your skills and, tackling
• challenging problems
• Self-motivated to rapidly pick new skills, work directly with senior techies and fellow technology
• teams in a cordial environment
• Fungibility- Ability to flex in different roles as per project demand & willingness to move to new roles
• Ready to give and receive feedback in a candid way
