  • Read scripts and meet with agents and other professionals before accepting a role
  • Audition in front of directors, producers, and casting directors
  • Research their characters personal traits and circumstances to portray the characters more authentically to an audience
  • Memorize their lines
  • Rehearse their lines and performance, including on stage or in front of the camera, with other actors
  • Discuss their role with the director, producer, and other actors to improve the overall performance of the show
  • Perform the role, following the directors directions
FOR SINGERS
  • Project voice so all of audience can hear.
  • Observe directors cues on stage.
  • Study and memorize music.
  • Provide backup vocals.
  • Record demos of songs in studios.
  • Work with producers to fine-tune songs or albums.
FOR DANCERS
  • Keeping fit and strong through regular exercise, proper diet, and enough sleep.
  • Showing up on time and preparing well for auditions, rehearsals, photo-shoots, promotional events, as well as shows.
  • Following the instructions of the choreographer and practicing required dance routines.
  • Singing, acting, and performing other related duties if required.
  • Conducting research on different dance styles and techniques.
  • Understanding personal limitations and abilities and communicating these to the choreographer.
  • Maintaining good relationships with fellow team members, the instructor, and senior staff.
  • Attending events to expand skill set and network with others.
FOR COMPOSERS AND LYRICISTS
  • Analyzing projects and specifications and liaising with directors and other stakeholders to gather information prior to the composition process.
  • Composing, recording, and performing musical scores and arrangements that complement television shows, commercials, movies, theater productions, and video games.
  • Expanding knowledge of musical equipment, software packages, and technical recordings.
  • Communicating any issues to the producer or director in a timely manner.
  • Traveling out to meet clients or relocating for the duration of the project.
  • Networking with other industry professionals and conducting research on classical as well as modern compositions.
  • Regularly attending the theater to gain new ideas and inspiration.
    • Understanding song specifications and the audience and genre you are writing lyrics for.
    • Listening to proposed melodies to determine the style, tone, and mood of the song before writing.
    • Collaborating with composers, singers, musicians, artists, and various other professionals.
    • Writing lyrics for a Capella singing or that complement instrumentals.
    • Positively receiving client feedback and making required revisions.
