Job Description

    The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire logistics and supply chain operations of the organization. This includes managing the flow of goods, services, and information from the point of origin to the end user. The role involves planning, coordinating, and optimizing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery while meeting quality standards.Key Responsibilities:
    1. Strategic Planning and Operations:
      • Develop and implement logistics strategies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
      • Oversee the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods to meet customer requirements.
      • Plan and manage logistics budgets, including freight, warehousing, and operational costs.
    2. Team Leadership:
      • Lead and supervise the logistics team, including supervisors, coordinators, and drivers.
      • Provide training, mentoring, and development opportunities to ensure team performance and engagement.
      • Conduct performance evaluations and address any staffing or operational challenges.
    3. Inventory and Warehousing:
      • Manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
      • Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatching of goods.
      • Ensure accurate inventory tracking through regular audits and system updates.
    4. Transportation and Fleet Management:
      • Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers for transportation services.
      • Optimize routing and scheduling to improve delivery times and reduce costs.
      • Oversee the maintenance and management of the companys transportation fleet.
    5. Compliance and Safety:
      • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations related to transportation and logistics.
      • Implement and enforce safety protocols for the handling and transportation of goods.
      • Oversee the proper documentation of shipments, including customs and export/import requirements.
    6. Customer Service and Communication:
      • Work closely with clients and stakeholders to provide updates on logistics operations.
      • Address and resolve customer inquiries, complaints, and issues related to shipments or deliveries.
      • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers to ensure seamless operations.
    7. Process Improvement:
      • Identify inefficiencies in logistics operations and implement strategies for improvement.
      • Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to enhance logistics processes.
      • Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for logistics activities.
    8. Reporting and Analytics:
      • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, costs, and inventory accuracy.
      • Prepare and present detailed reports on logistics performance, budgets, and process improvements.
      • Use data analytics to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • Education: Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
    • Experience:
      • 5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management.
      • At least 2 years of managerial or leadership experience.
    • Skills:
      • Strong understanding of logistics principles, transportation management, and inventory control.
      • Proficiency in logistics software (e.g., SAP, WMS, TMS) and MS Office tools.
      • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities.
      • Strong leadership and team management skills.
      • Analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational issues.
