Job Description

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of machinery, equipment, and systems by performing regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. This role involves implementing preventive maintenance programs, resolving technical issues, and minimizing downtime to ensure operational efficiency.Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Maintenance
   • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on machinery and equipment.
   • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or operational issues.
   • Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety standards.
2. Preventive Maintenance
   • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize unexpected breakdowns.
   • Monitor equipment performance and identify potential areas of failure.
   • Keep records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
3. Repairs and Troubleshooting
   • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and restore operations in a timely manner.
   • Repair or replace defective parts and components.
   • Collaborate with other departments to address equipment-related issues.
4. System Upgrades and Improvements
   • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of equipment and systems.
   • Recommend and implement upgrades or modifications to machinery.
   • Support new equipment installations and testing.
5. Safety and Compliance
   • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
   • Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards.
   • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
6. Documentation and Reporting
   • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
   • Prepare detailed reports on equipment performance and downtime.
   • Communicate maintenance updates to management and relevant teams.
Key Qualifications
• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a similar role.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (CMMS) and diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
Work Environment
• Work may involve manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, or building systems.
• Requires physical activity, such as standing for long periods and lifting heavy objects.
• May involve working shifts, including weekends, nights, or on-call hours, depending on operational needs.
Additional Requirements
• Certification in maintenance engineering or related fields (e.g., Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP)) is an advantage.
• Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
