Job Description Maintenance EngineerRole Purpose:Responsible for ensuring reliable operation and maintenance of plant equipment, execution of maintenance projects, EHS compliance, spare management, and coordination with internal teams and external service providers.Key Responsibilities
• Conduct daily plant and utility section visits, identify abnormalities, and ensure timely corrective action.
• Plan and execute preventive, routine, and breakdown maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime.
• Lead maintenance teams during equipment repairs and ensure breakdowns are attended within minimum repair time.
• Monitor maintenance and engineering projects, track progress, and prepare daily project activity reports.
• Coordinate installation, commissioning, and successful trials of stationary and rotary equipment.
• Verify contractor bills and conduct joint measurements for project and engineering works.
• Coordinate with AMC/CMC service engineers for equipment overhauling, servicing, and technical support.
• Manage outsourced engineering jobs, including spare-part repairs and coordination with local vendors.
• Ensure compliance with EHS requirements, proper use of PPE, and safe execution of maintenance activities.
• Prepare and implement work permits for hot work, cold work, work at height, and confined-space activities.
• Track and close Unsafe Acts/Unsafe Conditions (UA/UC) identified during plant inspections.
• Maintain workshop and maintenance-area housekeeping standards.
• Prepare and maintain ISO audit documents and required maintenance records.
• Prepare daily work reports and raise material/service purchase requisitions through the ERP system.
• Identify engineering spare requirements, monitor consumption, and maintain minimum/maximum inventory levels.
• Coordinate material issues from stores and ensure availability of critical maintenance spares.
• Participate in weekly maintenance, cross-functional, and training meetings.
• Coordinate effectively with production, engineering, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth plant operations.
