Metallurgical Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Metallurgical Manager to lead metallurgical operations within a technologically advanced aluminium manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished metallurgy professional to drive material quality, process excellence, alloy development, and continuous improvement initiatives across high-volume manufacturing operations.The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Production, Quality, Process Engineering, R&D, and Manufacturing Excellence teams to optimize metallurgical performance, improve product reliability, reduce process variation, and support the development of world class aluminium extrusion products.Key Responsibilities* Lead all metallurgical activities across aluminium extrusion and downstream manufacturing operations.* Develop, optimize, and standardize alloy compositions for various customer and industry applications.* Ensure metallurgical compliance with international quality standards and customer specifications.* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on mechanical properties, corrosion resistance, and product performance.* Lead root cause analysis of metallurgical defects, failures, and customer quality issues.* Monitor billet quality, casting parameters, homogenization, extrusion behaviour, and heat treatment processes.* Establish process controls to improve material consistency and reduce manufacturing variation.* Supervise laboratory operations, metallurgical testing, and microstructure evaluation.* Manage tensile testing, hardness testing, chemical composition analysis, and metallographic investigations.* Support new product development and qualification of new aluminium alloys.* Partner with Production and Quality teams to enhance manufacturing capability.* Implement best practices in process capability, statistical analysis, and defect prevention.* Mentor and develop metallurgical engineers and laboratory personnel.
