Job Description

    Reporting into the Cyber security operations team, the senior Cyber Security operations engineer plays a critical role in overseeing and driving a broad range of activities and a trustworthy, confident, and influential character is therefore essential. We have a small security operations team operating globally, and the successful candidate will be expected to have a broad range of experience, be self-motivated and work alongside IT operations engineers and several globally distributed development teams to ensure that security is implemented correctly and to deliver to our Cyber Security Strategy and roadmap.This senior-level global role is responsible for managing and enhancing cyber security operations through continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves overseeing outsourced MSSP SOC and vulnerability management services, ensuring alignment with SLAs and security standards. The candidate will provide strategic direction for the outsourced SOC, lead purple team. engagements, and drive automation in security incident response. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate asset inventories, ensuring timely vulnerability remediation, and tuning security controls based on threat intelligence and incident trends.The role requires maintaining comprehensive security documentation, supporting governance and compliance activities, and ensuring IT solutions comply with the ISMS. Additionally, the candidate will develop metrics to measure the effectiveness of security operations, report progress to senior management, and stay updated on the latest security technologies and best practices to foster innovation and maintain the organizations risk posture.About You:You have at least 7 years of practical, hands-on experience in managing and improving cyber security operations, with a strong background in SIEM and vulnerability management, whether through direct implementation or overseeing outsourced services. You excel in providing strategic direction for SOC operations, leading security initiatives, and implementing automation to enhance incident response. Your expertise extends to managing technical security documentation and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks like NIST CSF, ISO27001, and CIS v8.You possess strong skills in tuning security controls based on threat intelligence and incident trends, maintaining accurate asset inventories, and ensuring timely remediation of vulnerabilities.Your ability to engage with team members, manage multiple work streams, and deliver results is exceptional.Ideally, you hold relevant Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator and Microsoft Security Operations Analyst.
