Senior Metallurgical Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Metallurgical Engineer to join a leading manufacturing organization specializing in aluminium extrusion and advanced metal processing. This role is ideal for professionals who possess deep expertise in metallurgy, alloy development, heat treatment, failure analysis, and process optimization, with a passion for driving manufacturing excellence and product performance.You will play a critical role in improving material quality, optimizing production processes, supporting new product development, and ensuring compliance with international quality and metallurgical standards.Responsibilities- Lead metallurgical engineering activities across manufacturing and production operations.- Develop, optimize, and validate aluminium alloy compositions and processing parameters.- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, yield, and process capability.- Investigate material failures using metallurgical and root cause analysis techniques.- Recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.- Support extrusion, casting, homogenization, heat treatment, ageing, and finishing operations.- Analyze microstructure, mechanical properties, and material performance using metallurgical testing methods.- Establish process controls for heat treatment cycles and metallurgical consistency.- Collaborate with Production, Quality, R&D, Tooling, Maintenance, and Customer Engineering teams.- Review customer specifications and ensure compliance with applicable material standards.- Support qualification of new alloys, suppliers, and manufacturing processes.- Prepare technical reports, metallurgical documentation, and engineering recommendations.- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the engineering team.- Participate in customer audits, technical discussions, and product improvement initiatives.
