Job Description

The Shipping Incharge is responsible for overseeing and managing all shipping and distribution operations to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role involves coordinating with warehouse staff, freight carriers, and customers to ensure efficient shipping processes while maintaining compliance with company policies and industry regulations.Key Responsibilities:
1. Shipping Operations:
   • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping activities, including packing, labeling, and dispatching of goods.
   • Ensure accurate documentation for all shipments, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.
2. Team Management:
   • Manage and guide shipping staff to meet operational goals.
   • Train team members on shipping procedures and safety protocols.
3. Carrier Coordination:
   • Liaise with freight carriers, transport companies, and couriers to schedule shipments and negotiate rates.
   • Track shipments and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders.
4. Inventory and Records Management:
   • Maintain accurate records of shipped goods and monitor stock levels to prevent discrepancies.
   • Coordinate with the inventory and warehouse teams for order fulfillment.
5. Compliance and Regulations:
   • Ensure adherence to local and international shipping regulations, including customs and export requirements.
   • Verify compliance with company policies regarding packaging, labeling, and documentation.
6. Process Improvement:
   • Identify and implement improvements in shipping processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
   • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular performance reports to management.
7. Customer Service:
   • Address and resolve customer inquiries or issues related to shipping delays, damages, or lost shipments.
   • Ensure customer satisfaction by meeting delivery deadlines and maintaining service quality.
8. Safety and Maintenance:
   • Ensure proper maintenance of shipping equipment and tools.
   • Enforce safety guidelines to prevent accidents during loading, unloading, and transportation.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Relevant certifications in logistics or shipping (e.g., CILT, APICS) are an advantage.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of [X] years of experience in logistics, shipping, or warehouse operations.
