Job Description

    Role Overview:As a Data Scientist in the People Analytics & Insights team at Syngenta, you will play a crucial role in leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to uncover insights from workforce data. Your primary responsibility will be to support strategic talent decisions across the organization by partnering closely with HR, Talent Management, and business leaders.Key Responsibilities:- Analyze large and complex HR datasets such as engagement, attrition, performance, compensation, and hiring to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for business impact.- Develop predictive and prescriptive models like attrition risk, career pathing, and workforce segmentation to facilitate data-informed people strategies.- Translate business problems into analytical questions and effectively communicate findings to non-technical audiences in clear and actionable terms.- Create visualizations, dashboards, and storytelling tools using platforms like Tableau, Power BI, and Workday Discovery Boards to enhance insight delivery.- Collaborate with HR stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs), success metrics, and enhance people-related decision-making through data.- Design and implement surveys, experiments (A/B testing), and causal inference models to evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.- Ensure ethical data use and compliance with privacy and governance standards.- Stay updated on industry best practices in people analytics, data science, and AI/ML in HR.Qualifications:- Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Economics, or a related field.- 35 years of relevant experience in data science, analytics, or a similar role, preferably within HR or workforce analytics.- Advanced proficiency in technical skills for data manipulation and statistical modeling including Python, R, PySpark, and SQL.- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.- Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, and Workday Discovery Boards.- Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and hypothesis testing.- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure.- Excellent communication skills to explain complex analytical concepts to HR and business audiences.Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of DEI analytics and workforce diversity measurement.- Familiarity with Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or other HRIS platforms is a plus.- Understanding of HR functional areas like talent acquisition, performance management, and learning & development.Key Competencies:- Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving- Business Acumen & Strategic Mindset- Data Storytelling & Visualization- Collaboration & Stakeholder Management- Data Ethics & Privacy Awareness(Note: Syngenta is an Equal Opportunity Employer and does not discriminate in employment practices for reasons of race, color, religion, gender, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status) Role Overview:As a Data Scientist in the People Analytics & Insights team at Syngenta, you will play a crucial role in leveraging advanced analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to uncover insights from workforce data.
