Job Description

Role Overview:As a Backend Developer at Barclays in Pune, your main purpose will be to fulfill the delivery responsibilities by supporting highly motivated and dynamic cross-functional teams. You will be involved in all stages of the development cycle from requirement analysis to testing, ensuring timely delivery for various regulatory and strategic projects. You will need to build knowledge around payment systems and sanctions screening concepts in the initial few weeks.Key Responsibilities:- Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle- Manage the development of core Java, SQL queries, and Unix basic commands independently- Work in 100% Agile Software Development Life Cycle under sprint delivery timelines- Independently work on assigned tasks with minimal manual intervention- Undertake impact assessment of change requests against applications/products within the domain- Create/review component designs & builds to ensure compatibility with the end-to-end system design- Ensure technical engineering quality standards/benchmarks are met and take remedial action if there are quality shortfalls- Document all work in accordance with agreed standards, with re-use in mind- Support team mates on various technical queries and testing team in various testing cycles such as SIT, UAT, etc.Qualifications Required:- 2-4 years of experience in design & development of Java-based applications- Good understanding of version control, build process, and automated deployment- Experience with any RDBMS DB (Oracle and/or SQL Server) query writing- Exposure to Version Control Software (GIT/Perforce), Build tools like MavenAdditional Company Details:Barclays is a British universal bank that is diversified by business, customers, and geography.
