Senior Operations Manager (Supply Chain & Logistics)

Job Description

As a Senior Operations Manager at our clients leading logistics and warehousing entity in Delhi, Delhi, IN, your role will be crucial in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of a large-scale distribution center. You will be responsible for ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to the highest standards of safety and service. Your robust understanding of supply chain management, warehouse operations, inventory control, and transportation will be pivotal in leading and motivating a diverse operational workforce.**Responsibilities:**- Direct and manage all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, storage, order picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.- Develop and implement operational strategies and process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput.- Ensure accurate and timely inventory management, implementing cycle counting and physical inventory procedures to maintain stock integrity.- Oversee the efficient management of transportation logistics, including carrier selection, route optimization, and freight cost control.- Implement and enforce strict safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, complying with all relevant regulations.- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of operations supervisors and associates, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.- Develop and manage operational budgets, tracking expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.- Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance, identify trends, and drive data-informed decision-making.- Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to ensure seamless supply chain integration and customer satisfaction.- Implement and manage warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies to optimize operations.- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to team members.- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.**Qualifications:**- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in logistics and warehouse operations management, with a strong track record of success.- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control principles, and supply chain best practices.- Proven experience in managing large operational teams and driving performance improvements.- Strong understanding of transportation management and freight optimization.- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret KPIs and drive action.- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly desirable.- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse environments.This challenging yet rewarding role offers a seasoned operations leader like you an opportunity to make a significant impact in the heart of Delhis logistics hub.
