Software Engineering Manager

Job Description

As an Engineering Manager at Agoda, you will be part of the Compute Platform team in Bangkok, responsible for scaling and evolving the Compute Platform with a focus on inventory, platform tooling, and lifecycle management. Your role will involve balancing hands-on technical leadership with people leadership, guiding a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, high-quality data and tooling that supports informed decision-making at scale.In this role, you will:- Contribute to system design and code, perform reviews, and provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers at all levels.- Lead a cross-functional team of software and systems engineers, operating with agile delivery practices.- Drive the research, design, and delivery of inventory and compute platform tooling to improve visibility, efficiency, reliability, and lifecycle management.- Own the roadmap, ensuring delivery, reliability, and operational outcomes.- Foster a culture of operational excellence, engineering quality, and continuous improvement.- Continuously learn and explore emerging technologies, sharing knowledge and raising the technical bar across teams.To succeed in this role, you will need:- 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager.- Strong hands-on coding experience, preferably in Golang.- Experience in building or supporting platform tooling for large-scale compute or infrastructure environments.- Proven experience with platform stability, resilience, and observability.- A data-driven approach to decision-making and experience in modern CI/CD environments.- Comfort operating with high autonomy at the team level and experience leading Agile/Scrum teams.- Demonstrated experience using Generative AI tools in day-to-day engineering and management workflows.- Strong communication skills in English.It would be great if you have:- Experience designing or building asset and inventory management systems at scale.- Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools like Ansible.- Understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols in large-scale infrastructure environments.- Ability to communicate effectively across teams within a large organization.- Experience with open-source projects and integrating GenAI capabilities into platforms.Please note that Agoda is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunity regardless of various characteristics.
