Chief Technologist, Industrial CoE

Job Description

As an Industrial Chief Technologist, you ll need to have solid leadership, technical, and executive engagement skills to guide alignment across a wide range of Red Hat s offerings and ecosystem stakeholders while representing Red Hat s global industry vertical business in support of Red Hat s Sales team, partner, and customer business needs. To succeed in this role, you ll also need to have experience with technical selling, competitive outlook, and understanding of the sales process, as well as a deep technical understanding of network architectures, Edge and 5G deployment models, and application architectures. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business. What you will do
• Provide advanced technical presales support and architect solutions that include Red Hat s offerings, consulting services, and training, aligned with those of our industrial ecosystem partners
• Lead engaging conversations, customer relationships, and architected solutions that will result in sales growth; support customer meetings through presentations, e.g., whiteboarding or formal presentations, demonstrations, and explanations of the value of Red Hat s technologies, open platforms, and architected solutions
• Work with customers and partners in proof of concept lab situations to stand up and demonstrate new technologies and solutions addressing edge and related industrial use cases
• Build trusted relationships with customers and partners to gain deep understanding of the customer and partner business, network infrastructure, IT, and applications environments, allowing the sales team to best match Red Hat s offerings and solutions with those of our ecosystem of partners to address customer business needs and requirements
• Support the development of blueprints and reference architectures with Red Hat s product teams, partners, and related community initiatives focused on industrial use cases
• Actively collaborate with regional and global teams to align on technology strategy, use case
• development, and participation in customer proof of concept and industry forum engagements
• Represent Red Hat as a spokesperson and presenter at internal and external industry forums and open source community events; coordinate with globally distributed partner-specific technical engagement associates in cooperation with partner alliance teams
• Maximize overall sales results, including bookings with our industrial ecosystem partners and joint bookings with end user accounts globally, aiming to achieve mutually agreed-upon account plans
• Communicate progress, status, and lessons learned from sales pursuits to all internal stakeholders and customers as applicable; demonstrate the ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for product and technology roadmaps
What you will bring
• 10+ years of experience working in the software industry; deep understanding of Red Hat s platforms, open source technologies, and customer issues in delivering on the promise of operational technology transformation
• 5+ years of experience working in the industry sector, including manufacturing, oil and gas, mining, or utilities involving cloud and virtualization technologies
• 5+ years of large or global account technical experience; demonstrated excellence in delivering
• results against a rapid growth plan
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work with diverse senior
• executives and program owners
• Highly collaborative work style with proven ability to gather consensus and get support for
• decisive and timely action
• Direct knowledge of Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes, and application services is a big plus
• Advanced computer science or engineering degree and extensive engagement in open source
• communities and industry forums are a plus
