The role is to work as a software developer in the Unified Communications and Connectivity Practice s Services Continuous Development team. This will involve working in a team of developers to build the next generation of collaboration and omni-channel contact center experiences that our customers can consume.The role will involve understanding and implementing APIs from CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) and other platforms to build cloud native applications.A good understanding of micro-services (Docker, Kubernetes), function as a service (AWS Lambda), infrastructure as a service (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure) will be needed as part of this role.The main languages used by the team will be Javascript and Python. The node.js and Angular 2 frameworks are used so good knowledge of these or the ability to learn them is required. Experience with React is also desirableThe team will be managing work through the Scrum or Kanban framework, so good knowledge of this and how to work within it is essential.This role will be to deliver on the following:Help to create a build pipeline to allow continuous delivery of new software projects.Work with Vodafone architects on new designs, providing input into the best way to solve problems with software development.Bring your ideas into to the Services team management on how best to enhance our software engineering capability. Keep up-to-date on current thinking, and design patterns in software development to ensure that software produced remains fresh.Work in a DevOps team to Develop new software projects against Communications Platforms a Service APIs to enhance the Vodafone feature set in the Converged Communications and Contact Center spaceResearch open source projects that Vodafone could leverage to create new servicesPresent to the Services management in UC Practice on where we are going with software development, and demonstrate use cases.Ensure that software produced has excellent unit testing coverage to ensure that change can be made safely.Key accountabilities and decision ownershipCreate software to solve Vodafone business problems in Unified Communications and Contact CenterActively contribute to the team improvement activitiesLearn new things and put them into practiceOwn tasks committed to and see through to completionKey performance indicators:Potentially shippable software delivered at every sprint reviewDemonstrated appropriate unit test coveragePeer reviewed committed codeCore competencies, knowledge and experienceAbility to adapt to new development languages and frameworksWorking in agile teamsBe enthusiasticMust have technical / professional qualifications:A demonstrated ability to create software projects, *B.TEch/Computer Graduate/Equivalent
