Anesthesia medical coders.They then submit the records to the reimbursement department for billing and claim submission.Here are some responsibilities of an anesthesia medical coder:
• Review documentationReview clinical documentation and diagnostic results to extract data and apply codes.This includes reviewing medical charts under the diagnosis and procedure to assign the related CPT and ICD-10.
• Assign codesAssign codes based on coding and customer guidelines, and ensure that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately.
• CollaborateCollaborate with accounts receivable, communicate with insurance companies, and support billers and AR analysts.
• Monitor changesMonitor code changes and research, analyze, and recommend plans of action to correct discrepancies and prevent future coding errors.
