A cluster of schools will be chosen for intervention and preliminary data will be collected by the way of surveys, focus group discussions, interviews and road safety audits.This data will be employed to develop street design interventions in a few chosen locations.Trials will be conducted to demonstrate the design and data will be collected pre - and post - trials. Final design proposals will then be prepared and submitted to city level authorities for permanent implementation.Responsibilities:Perform design tasks, plans preparation, report & presentations for various urban transportation, open - street initiatives, urban design and road safety projectsDevelop street design proposals for intersections and sections of urban road as per the needed guidelines by employing child - friendly design principles.Participate in meetings with BBMP engineers, consultants, contractors, civic groups, schools, and other community members to obtain feedback on design proposalsAssist in conducting design trials through the approach of tactical urbanismConduct and coordinate primary & secondary surveys; Perform cost estimates, quantity estimates and material specificationsAssist in conducting workshops targeted at various stakeholder groups, such as city - level authorities, schools, and civic groups, to build capacities and or create awareness of child - friendly designsMust have strong spatial and land - use comprehension as well as excellent visual communication abilitiesWorking knowledge of AutoCAD, basic 3D modelling, GIS, Adobe Creative Suite is preferredKey attributes and credentials essential for the rolePrior experience in Built environment, Urban Design, Streets and NMT planning, Urban Traffic and Transportation Engineering/ Planning projectsFamiliar with design of roads, intersections, construction, data collection, research & analysis, urban traffic safety viz., pedestrian and vehicular safety etc.Strong organizational and verbal and written communication skillsExcellent academic performance and strong analytical capabilityAbility to communicate complex concepts clearly both orally and in writing, with excellent demonstrated skills in EnglishProficiency in KannadaHighly organized and detail - oriented; experience managing complex processes or projects.Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast - paced working environment and to juggle multiple assignments with little supervisionQualifications:Masters Degree in Urban Design from a recognized university/institution will be preferred.At least 1 year of experience working on relevant street design projects,
