With these, we are positioned to accelerate IoT growth on a global scale for ourselves, our partners, and our customers.We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer for our IoT CloudOps team in Bangalore, India.Who Youll Work WithCisco IoT CloudOps team is responsible for the development and operation of the cloud environment powering all Cisco hosted IoT products. Our team of cloud engineers works to build, develop, secure, automate, and operate application infrastructure in a variety of public and private clouds, providing the engineering group a consistent platform to deploy all the IoT application components.In this role, you will work in an Agile-based work environment as part of an SRE team tasked to develop, test, integrate, deploy and operate cloud services in a production environment, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Partner with Development team for integration and deployment of new cloud services and features into a production 3rd party cloud IaaS platform (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Collaborate with other Cisco team members, partners, and the open-source community to advance the state of the platform
  • Deploy and operate development and 24x7 production environments
  • Perform integration, system scale, and performance testing
  • Build and operate operational and deployment tools as well as infrastructure-level services
Who You Are
  • MS/CS or equivalent degree combined with 3-4 years of work experience or BS/CS or equivalent degree combined with 6-8 years of work experience in a cloud production environment
  • 2+ years of experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Experience with one or more cloud infrastructures, modern scripting languages, configuration management/provisioning frameworks
  • Experience using and developing container-based solutions, automating cloud deployment and cloud networking concepts
  • Drive: Self-motivated engineer with intellectual curiosity and a strong go-getter attitude. Passion and energy to implement quality technical solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate problems, solutions, risks, rewards, etc. (written and verbal)
  • Analytical: Able to see gaps and areas of improvement in the process as well as technologies, providing recommendations, and taking the initiative to fix issues

  • Intermediate to Expert level understanding of Linux
  • AWS
  • Experience with a container orchestration system (such as Kubernetes, Mesos)
  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as (CloudWatch, InfluxDB, ELK, Splunk)
  • Experience with cloud computing concepts including virtualization, web services APIs, elastic infrastructure, distributed data storage (database, block, object), multi-tenancy, and metered usage patterns
