Advisory Account management platform is used by the Financial Advisors and Client Service Associates to incept and update and perform overall maintenance of the advisory managed accounts. The application is used by 15,000 financial advisors who incept and maintain the 2 million advisory accounts. As Vice President in the organization you will identify, develop and hire an excellent team of engineers to define, drive and execute complex projects that are organizational priorities. You will build a team of highly motivated and talented individuals that can collaborate with our internal stakeholders and firm wide technology teams.Responsibilities * Responsible for the overall development life cycle of the solution and manage complex projects with significant business impact * Project management - prioritization , planning of projects and features, stakeholder management and tracking of external commitments * As a hands on specialist develop and deliver complex features and reusable architectural components * Recommend alternative technical approaches, and lead engineering efforts to provide optimal solutions. * Instill a culture of continuous improvement within the team and demonstrate measurable improvements * Implement DevOps best practice for monitoring & operation of production services * Career management and development of direct reportsSkill Set* Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline, preferably computer science * 10+ years of experience in designing and implementing large scale enterprise applications * Experience in developing client-server, distributed, real-time applications using Java, J2EE, Spring * 3+ years of experience in building and leading a strong engineering team * Working knowledge and experience in front end technologies like Angular, HTML5/CSS3, AJAX is highly desirable * JavaScript, LESS/SASS - Desirable * Strong object-oriented design and development skills * Needs to be comfortable working in the Unix/Linux environment. * Good knowledge of Concurrency and high-volume server side development * Involvement in full Software Development Life Cycle of the project. * Experience of automated testing software (e.g. Unit testing, using frameworks, performance testing/tuning), *Qualifications/CriterionQualification:- Masters Degree or Bachelors Degree with equivalent combination of professional training and experience.Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
