Job Description

The Software PLM team is responsible for software technology planning and driving execution and delivery, including bringing together and prioritizing core software technologies and customer requirements, defining the core software technology vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure customer happiness goals are met. The Software PLM team is responsible for hardware independent and segment independent software products, technologies and features, such as the Network OS and off-box software such as SDN controllers, virtual network functions.

The role is for a PLM focused on network operating systems. We are looking for a highly motivated, driven, creative individual who is passionate about developing high-value, quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the messenger of the market from the outside-in to the rest of the organization.

• Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership to choose the best ones to pursue.

• Develop roadmap for products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future.

• Collaborate with other partners such as product marketing on the creation of positioning for your products.

• Craft user stories for current and future products based on the market s problems.

• Be responsible for the entire technology life cycle from prototyping and testing new features/technology and ideas to magnificent transitioning from legacy technology.

• Drive buy-build-partner analysis, and where necessary, review potential partner relationships.

• Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and inspire changes to our product and processes to build improvement.

• Keep a finger on the pulse of our competition, and develop strategies and tactics to reduce the threat.

Skills/Experience:

• The candidate must have 10+ years industry experience in senior technologist roles: either at a network technology company or at an organization operating large network such as a mission critical enterprise, service provider or a cloud provider.

• Tech savvy and passionate about building products as well as a creative and critical thinker.

• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience across server, compute, storage, and network.

• Expertise with one or more compute/storage/network virtualization platforms, such as Openstack.

• Deep knowledge and experience with Linux.

• Strong familiarity with cloud scale DC and WAN environments and architectures.

• Track record of using qualitative and quantitative data to prioritize and drive decision-making.

• Comfortable using teamwork and CRM tools such as Slack, JIRA, Aha and Salesforce.

• Metrics-driven: Strong analytical and synthesis skills are a must, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information.

• Experience with best practice agile scrum development and lean startup principles.

• Curious and comfortable holding professional conversations with our target buyers and users.

• Must be a strong writer and public speaker in front of large, senior groups.

• Excellent people and management skills to get along with staff, colleagues, cross-functional teams and third parties.

• BS/BSE/EE degree in engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience.

• Post graduate degree is a plus.

• This position requires domestic and international travel up to 25 percent.
