Senior Software Engineer (Node.js) : PositionSummary PowerSchool is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its NextGen Registration team. This position, under the general direction ofthe Lead and/ or Manager, Software Engineering, will be responsible fortechnical and development support for our award- winning K- 12 software. Thisrole will implement, code, build, and test new features, maintain existing features, and develop reports that will include components, data models, customization andreporting features for our products. Additionally, this position will gatherand refine requirements, develop designs, implement, test and documentsolutions to produce the highest quality product and customer satisfaction. Dutiesand Responsibilities Essential duties and responsibilitiesinclude the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enableindividuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Investigate andresolve issues reported for a large web application following best practicessuch as authoring or updating unit tests, writing maintainable code, applyingestablished patterns and algorithms. Analyze performanceand develop improvements to performance of web application. Assist with securityupdates to web application. Perform upgrades to3rd party libraries and tools used by the web application Implement new webapplication software features and products following best practices such asauthoring of unit tests, writing maintainable code, applying established patternsand algorithms Specialize in clientor server side web application development as a member of a project team.Preference for familiarity with the full technical stack. Develop software tosupport internal initiatives, tools, update framework and applicationfunctionality Work as part of anAgile SCRUM team in the planning, scoping, estimation and execution oftechnical solutions Work within a widerange of new and legacy code and technologies in a mature codebase Other duties asassigned ,
