• 9+ Years of relevant Total IT experience. Overall Experience of 12 years will be preferred.
• 6+ years with IBM hands on experience supporting customer under live environment.
• 2+ years experience plan, design, configuration and support of large enterprise SANs and NAS environments.
• 3+ years performing capacity planning, performance analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Able to communicate clearly with peers as well as management.
• Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
• Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities.
• The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward.
• Excellent communication, writing, meeting facilitation skills

Role & responsibilities:

• As a Storage Engineer you will plan and manage the installation, configuration and tuning of NAS and SAN storage hardware and software including replication and DR appliances according to best practices, while ensuring high levels of data quality and availability for all enterprise and internal customers in an mission critical 24 x7 Enterprise Storage systems environment including but not limited to NetApp, HP, EMC, and IBM Storage devices in a Solaris, AIX, Linux, Windows, and VMWare environments for its customers , EVA, DMX, Clarion, IBM V 7000 etc.) .
• Duties will also include:
• Provide highly complex day-to-day technical support that includes investigating and resolving NAS systems-related matters; and ongoing maintenance, support, troubleshooting and management of NetApp, IBM and HP storage provisioning.
• Maintain technical relationships and evaluate market technologies associated with SAN vendors so that as product enhancements are made or new products become available an understanding can be obtained to determine how they could be beneficially applied to customer and other environments.
• Provide support telephonically and/or electronically including participation in on-call SAN and NAS steady-state support rotation.
• Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures to ensure consistent storage provisioning, uptime, regulatory compliance and data protection.
• Responsible for delivery of storage services according to statements of work from the Project Manager.
• Work closely with operations, project management, application development, network security and database administrators to develop scalable, maintainable, consistent, highly available storage architectures that meet business objectives and set relevant service-level agreements leading to improvements to the existing production storage environment.
• Troubleshoot and perform software upgrades on switches and storage devices.
• Provide capacity planning, performance analysis, develop data disaster recovery plans, lead efforts towards storage consolidation, identify storage growth, manage configuration of storage media and storage management software.
• Design redundant systems and policies for disaster recovery and archiving to ensure the effective protection and integrity of storage appliances and stored data assets.
• Maintain current knowledge of storage-related trends and issues including current and emerging technologies and best practices.
• Ensure IT adherence to service level agreements regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability.
• Monitor use and availability of storage resources.
• Generate reports and analysis on storage usage.
• Secondary duties include being a technical consultant in the area of IT Backup. To provide technical expertise, guidance, and strategic recommendations to develop a roadmap that ensures that the current and planned technical backup solutions are compatible with the companys business needs and strategic objectives.
• Other duties include storage project management, creating and maintaining detail technical documentation and standards, monitoring SAN/NAS infrastructure, capacity planning, evaluate emerging SAN technologies, support and maintenance of peripheral systems.
