Description Key Responsibilities / Functions:. Use engineering knowledge to act as a technical expert and suggest automation solutions for the identified opportunities. Work with business leaders at various plants to generate requirements. Collaborate with Marmon business units to resolve their technical queries on automation projects. Work closely with internal and external customers and vendors to resolve issues and provide technical support. Responsibility includes system architecture, specification, reviews, and identifying vendors. Build payback models and assist in writing capital requests. Lead 2-3 simultaneous projects at any given time for the above responsibilities. Identifying quality issues and writing reports, prepare checklists & guidelines. Mentor another team memberPersonal Characteristics and Attributes:. Able to work with North American vendors/customers as needed. Researching vendors, writing project specifications, and coordinating the quote process. Good business communication (written/verbal). Great expertise in stakeholder management Job Requirements Required Qualifications: (Education, Technical Skills/Knowledge). Experience in planning and developing automation solutions for manufacturing processes. Requires experience in the Lean production principles and tools capable of analyzing the layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and work force to maximize efficiency and improving production design for manufacturability. Ability to plan, co-ordinate and execute tasks (continuous improvement, basics of cost estimating, BOM management, value engineering, analysis, etc.). Having a deep understanding of various Manufacturing processes and possible automation to reduce repetitive jobsAbility to work on simulation softwares like Simio, Visual components & Hands on experience in design calculations. Expertise in defining specification for factory automation requirement with limited inputs from factory operations team based on engineering process knowledge like FMEA. Good understanding of materials, inspection, processes and finishing operations. Knowledge of factory automation is mustNice to have Requirements:. Experience in the context of Robotics, Cobots, AGVs, Industrial automation & control (IIOT). Exposure to process tools like Six Sigma, APQP, etc.
