Job Description

Extensive experience in playing expert role to diagnose and resolve oracle database performance issues with slow SQL/Pl/SQL codeExperience in resolving complex database issuesExperience in dealing with variety of performance problems and find ways to solve them rapidly and effectively.Extensive experience in Oracle SQL tuning, database waits, and performance views and reports such as ASH, AWR, Statspack, Tkprof etc.Extensive experience in dealing with SQL, index access paths, joins, and response times and good at finding metadata to track down a hunch or hypothesis.Hands-on experience in modifying and fine-tuning SQL, interpreting Sql execution plan and providing solution to resolve problem.Developing best practices to collect performance data and database performance testing methodology.Desire to learn, listen, think, test, and fix problems independently is essential to success.Mentor and training mid-level oracle DBAs to develop performance tuning skills.Able to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.Requirements:A candidate should have at least 10 years Oracle DBA with specialization in performance tuning8-10 years of experience oracle database 11g-18c8-10 years of experience in Linux/UnixIntermediate to advance level experience in shell/perl scriptingExcellent communications skills, both verbal and written, including good technical writing and interpersonal skillsFlexible, team player, get-it-done personalitySenior SQL DBA, PerformanceExpert in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization, Partitioning, Compression, indexing and wait statsExperience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues etc.Implement, review and tune table indexes as needed.SQL Server installation and upgrades. Plan and coordinate data migrations between systemsWork with application development team to develop database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures.Demonstrate best practices for development and performanceReview SQL Server objects in development for advising opportunityProvide technical support of database environments/applications, including software installation, database creation, upgrades, patches, problem diagnosis, performance monitoring, database maintenance, process automation, evaluation, and tuning recommendations; develop, implement and support backup/restore, disaster recovery, and data replication procedures and exercisesShare domain and technical expertise, providing performance guidance to other peers and team membersAble to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams.Mentor and provide performance guidance to DBAs and developers as needed.Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems, troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekendsRequirements:8-10 years of experience as SQL server DBA with specialization in performance tuning5 or more years of experience in software development, using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and T-SQL language (queries, views, procedures), SQL Server Database Design, Stored Procedure Design, and implementation.
