We need a new, passionate lead engineer in the team. Youll have ample opportunity to work in exciting products and solutions that positively affect how our customers and their end users live, work and play.We are seeking a Technical Leader in Software Engineering who will drive the definition, design and implementation of key customer features for our Ciscos Sports & Entertainment flagship product. You will be involved in working on a high-visibility, media-centric product that enables our customers to emphasize their brands and/or monetize their investments in Cisco technologies. We are looking for candidates who strive in a fast-paced environment and someone who is keen on end-user workflows.You will be leading a team of local engineers involved in the development of software for our Cisco Vision product, collaborating closely with peers in the US. You will have ownership of select features where you will lead the definition, design, and implementation of such features. Work involves performing code reviews, and mentoring junior team members. Sports and entertainment properties, retailers, hospitality providers, transportation hubs and others around the world are taking advantage of these key Cisco Vision capabilities to unleash the power of digital experiences, and capture new business opportunitiesAs a Technical Leader in Software Engineering you will collaborate with cross functional teams such as Product Managers, Technical Writers, UX Designers and Quality Assurance Engineers to build upon our industry-leading Cisco Vision product.Who You AreYoure a trusted engineer who inspires confidence through your work ethics and discipline. You can convey the most complex concepts in the simplest of terms.At minimum, we require:A Bachelors Degree in CS/EE or equivalent plus 7-10 years of software development experience with a focus on distributed applications, web services and/or full stack developmentPrior experience in following technologies: Java and related ecosystem that includes Spring, Hibernate, Ant/Maven, JUnit, Guava and Hibernate;HTML5/Javascript/CSS3, Angular;Linux shell scripting;Data brokers such as Mule;Experience developing applications that leverage relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL/Postgres ad MongoDB; JSON, XML, REST/web services; RPM; data brokers (such as Mule);Experience in agile development.Previous experience using developments tools/technologies that include Git/GitHub and SVN for code repository.Good communication skills, both written and spoken English.Knowledge of secure software development process.Hands-on experience defining and implementing APIs.Experience writing multi-threaded Java application.Experience developing applications for use in 24x7 environment.An endless desire to learn.Additional skills that are highly desirable:Prior experience as a scrum master.Good presentation skills.Experience with media-centric applications.Prior experience in digital signage.Why CiscoWe connect everything: people, processes, data, and things.
