Job Description

As a database administrator, youll be responsible for the performance, integrity and security of a database. However, depending on the organization and your level of responsibility, the role can vary from inputting information through to total management of data.Responsibilities and duties

  • Install Server software
  • Monitor and maintain system health and security
  • Assisting in database design
  • Updating and amending existing databases
  • Setting up and testing new database and data handling systems
  • DB Mirroring and Cloud DB Server Management
  • Monitoring database efficiency
  • Creating complex query definitions that allow data to be extracted
  • Training colleagues in how to input ,extract data and writing efficient SQL statements
Competencies Required
  • 2+ years professional experience or internship
  • Advanced knowledge of database structure and theory
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL and MSSQL
  • Basic understanding of disaster recovery and database backup procedures
  • Familiarity with reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and assistance
Important
  • Attention to details.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications, Word, ER Diagrams, Star Schema
  • Knowledge of Data warehousing
  • Results oriented - Strives to achieve high levels of individual and organizational performance.
  • Strong customer relationship skills.
