• Receive stock: check delivery, verify quantities & condition of items received.
• Organize and store the stock properly, following FIFO (First In, First Out) or other inventory rotation rules.
• Keep accurate records in stock registers / computer / ERP system for all stock movements (inward / outward / transfers)
• Conduct regular stock counts / physical inventory, reconcile with system (booked) stocks.
• Issue materials to production or other departments in correct amounts and quality (if applicable)
• Dispatch goods / finished stock for delivery to other locations or for customer orders.
• Supervise staff/helpers in the store / warehouse.
• Maintain store / warehouse conditions: good housekeeping, safety, hygiene, roof/structure maintenance, ensuring goods are stored safely (avoiding damage, spoilage) etc.
Qualifications & Skills Often Required
• Generally,10th pass / 12th pass, sometimesGraduateneeded
• Some experience in store / inventory / warehouse operations, especially in FMCG or related industries.
• Basic computer skills: ability to use inventory / stock software or MS Excel.
• Knowledge of stock control procedures, understanding of FIFO / proper storage etc.
• Good organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to count & reconcile stock.
• Sometimes leadership or the ability to supervise helpers / store staff.
Typical Conditions
• Full-time, on-site work in a warehouse, store department, or at a manufacturing unit.
• May require working 6 days a week, or shift work depending on location.
• Physical work: handling materials, loading / unloading, ensuring stock is physically moved.
• Reporting to store manager / store officer.
