• Understanding of building codes, safety codes, and quality standards
• Knowledge of construction methods, technologies, and worksite safety practices
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, contracts, and specifications

Construction Manager Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and work timetables for all construction projects
• Oversee all logistical requirements and create comprehensive work schedules for construction teams
• Delegate tasks and allocate responsibilities to team members to ensure efficient workflow
• Conduct regular site visits to inspect work, check materials, and monitor progress
• Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and health and safety guidelines
• Select, hire, and coordinate subcontractors and schedule their activities
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists throughout the project
• Meet regularly with clients, third parties, and other managers to report on project progress
• Set targets, objectives, and responsibilities for all supervised staff
• Review timings, budgets, labor, risk, and project plans regularly to keep work on track
• Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to other professionals
• Respond efficiently to work delays, emergencies, and other project disruptions
• Deal with contracts and mitigate the impact of any emerging issues
