Job Description

Position Summary Quality Manager is accountable for:

  • Providing QA / QC support to business units.
  • Providing support to site functions with the management and implementation of Operational Excellence (OE) initiative. Facilitate adoption & implementation of Lean Six Sigma methodology, principles and mindset.
  • Implementing and ensuring adherence to QMS ISO 9001:2015 requirements
  • Liaison with certification body for QMS ISO 9001 certification.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Act as a change agent. Creates strategy to drive cultural change towards Quality and efficiency.
  • Lead Kaizen workouts to eliminate Muda and reduce cycle time. Improve the process efficiency and drive ODC towards operational excellence.
  • Analyze KPIs using statistical methods / tools like Microsoft Excel, Minitab, SAS, SPSS etc and create a review rhythm with management
  • Utilize various quality and lean tools to improve Quality of ODC deliverables.
  • Implement Quality Training Plans and act as Quality/Six Sigma/Lean coach for the engineering and non-engineering functions.
  • Coach and train the team on Lean, DMAIC & DFSS methodology. Develop training modules as required.
  • Allies with respective function stakeholders to drive Green Belt/Black Belt Six Sigma projects.
  • Create communication strategy to keep staff and leadership informed about OE initiatives.
Quality Management System
  • Implement a formal Quality Management System at ODC, develop key performance indicators and drive Continuous Improvement process
  • Ensure that processes needed for the quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained across the site
  • Use risk management tools to identify improvements and mitigate risks associated with Critical to Quality Characteristics.
  • Maintain and develop quality system documents, records etc.
  • Liaison with various function stakeholders / business units and provide support for implementing QMS requirements, Quality Policy, Manual and standard procedures.
  • Devise QMS and Six Sigma training plan for new hires.
  • Schedule and conduct Operations Review Meetings on periodic basis with General Manager and leadership team
  • Schedule and conduct QMS audits and coordinate with certification body for external certification or surveillance audits.
  • Perform QMS effectiveness assessment / Gap analysis and develop the improvement action plan
  • Identify, develop, and report QMS metrics on a periodic basis
  • Identify areas of opportunity and support continual improvement of the Quality Management System
  • Maintain the Communication channel to Oceaneering different Business units - Quality Managers / Project Managers / Engineering Managers to meet their expectations on quality.
  • Implement best practices for ODC Team.
  • Spread Quality culture across all the project/ functions

Other assignments or special projects as required by Quality Manager and Site Manager.

Qualifications Qualifications
  • Bachelors in Engineering (preferred in Mechanical Engineering or allied branch) with minimum 8 years of relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of practical experience in Design / Manufacturing / QMS.
  • Experience in both manufacturing and service related fields is desired
  • Proven track record in lean/six sigma implementation
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodology (DFSS / DMAIC / A3 Thinking) and Statistical Tools viz. Minitab etc.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • ISO 9001Internal Auditor
  • Self-driven, Passionate for process excellence.
  • Has at least 2 years of experience with a leading organization in Quality / Operations Excellence / Six Sigma GB / BB role.
