Job Description

Position Summary

Voice Communications Engineer, Technologist I, will be responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of the Company s Global VOIP product suite. Duties include participation as Voice engineer to design and coordinate the Global deployment of the Voice Network. This position also includes troubleshooting and maintenance of our current voice and video system.

Knowledge of standard project management practices with excellent written and oral communications skills are also required.

Duties Responsibilities

The Voice Communications Engineer will lead a program to design, install, maintain and upgrade the Company s Cisco VoIP solutions. This includes coming up with an upgrade plan which would include dial plan redesign, migration from a multi site deployment to a centralize solution and disaster recovery design. The candidate will also be responsible for the day to day administration of the Network which includes troubleshooting Voice, Data and Video issues at our local, global and offshore facilities.

Other Duties and responsibilities include effectively communicating project plans and expectations to the team members. Providing documentation and training to the group and a full understanding of our change control requirement to ensure compliance with the audit system.

  • Reports to Manager, IT Service Center
  • Works closely with other IT Groups
Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven expert level experience in designing Cisco IP Telephony solutions
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Bachelor s Degree & professional certifications are desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

  • Expert in Cisco Unified Communications, Mobility Implementations and Active Directory Integration.
  • Expert in Voice Infrastructure Design and above average voice related to data networking.
  • Experience of QOS policies across the Enterprise for Voice and Video.
  • Knowledge of SIP, SCCP, MGCP, H323, RAS, RTP, Dial Peers and Digit Manipulation.
  • Expert in configuring and troubleshooting CME, CUE, SRST, CUBE, SAT, CUCME Call Features, IOS based call queuing, IOS media resources, SAF, MTP, Transcoding and Conferencing from version 4.X till 8.6
  • Knowledge in planning, design and implementation of video system is a huge plus.
  • Knowledge of VMware installations and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge with configuring and troubleshooting the EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.
  • Log file analysis, event correlation, and troubleshooting
  • Ability to work well in a team or individually.

Working Conditions

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
