Test Engineer

Job Description

*BASIC FUNCTIONAs a member of the Data Services and Integration team, the Testing Engineer will be responsible for testing Cloud/On-Prem Web Applications. This includes understanding applications, test requirements, building, executing & automating test scenarios. This also includes specialization in test frameworks like Selenium & programming skills in Java, ServiceNow ATF [Automation Test Framework]. PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with multiple internal/external stakeholders to build, execute & automate end-to-end testing solutions for web/ServiceNow applications.
• Understanding and Analyzing Test Requirements
• Selecting or Identifying Areas/Test cases for Automation.
• Designing & Implementing Test Automation Strategy.
• Creating Automation Test Plan and getting approvals.
• Automation Framework Design and Implementation.
• Creating, Organizing, and managing Test Automation Resources.
• Creating, Enhancing, debugging, and Running Test Cases.
• Organizing, monitoring defect management process.
• Handling changes and conducting Regression Testing.
• Inspecting Elements, Create Test Cases using Element locators and Selenium WebDriver Commands.
• Enhance Test cases using Java Programming and JUnit / TestNG Annotations.
• Link requirements to tests & defects. Creating and maintaining Requirement Traceability Matrix.
• Maintenance of test scripts in case of product feature changes.
• Provide prompt updates to business and internal team which ensures stress free experience to business and internal team
• Research and evaluate further testing tools/frameworks and stay abreast of industry best practices and contribute ideas for improvements in Testing practices.
• Work effectively in a global team environment.
• Work with vendor to resolve product issues

EDUCATION/LANGUAGE

• Bachelor s degree (B.Tech/B.E.) with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems OR Masters in Computer Applications
• Selenium Test Environment

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

• 5 -7 years of relevant experience in Cloud/On-Prem Application Testing & Automation for large scale enterprises preferably using Selenium tools.
• Must have experience in Functional, regression and load, data driven, and cross browser testing
• Must have experience in Modular Test execution using Selenium Web Driver
• Expertise in identifying defects for large scale web applications.
• Experience in enhancing Test cases using Java Programming and JUnit / TestNG Annotations.
• Experience implementing Automated Test Framework (ATF) for ServiceNow custom applications & setting up scripts within ServiceNow preferred
• Basic Understanding of ServiceNow architectural standards, allowing for most efficient use of ServiceNow Platform preferred
• Experience in any relational database like Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL etc., is required.
• Basic understanding of Networking concepts like VPN, Firewall, Proxy, DNS etc.
• Basic understanding of Application servers i.e. Apache Tomcat, Weblogic.
• Basic Understanding of Application Security will be a plus.
• Experience in with html, JavaScript will be a plus.
• Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as MySQL, MongoDB is a plus
• Proven experience in being innovative, flexible and self-directed.
• Must be open to evaluate, research and present new/alternate technologies in testing
• Team skills including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external teams.
• Works well in an environment with firm deadlines; results oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capacity to multi-task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
• Must be open to work during off hours/days as the need may arise
