Role Category: Healthcare/Medical CodingEducational Background Required: Graduation in any Life Science background/Paramedic Graduation (Nursing/Pharma)Responsibilities:
• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient hospital stays.
• Review medical records, including physician notes, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses, selecting appropriate DRG codes.
• Assign procedural codes for surgeries or other procedures performed during the stay.
• Verify accuracy and completeness of coding before submitting claims to insurance companies.
Skills:
• Should have good English communication skill.
• Ability to write appeals to the insurance company.
• Fresher in Medical Coding (or)Knowledge in Anatomy and Physiology.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Review claims and assign a level of service, a carrier, and all other information needed to process the claim
• Ensure all signatures are in order, that the claim is medically necessary, and the level of service chosen is appropriate
• Correct any discrepancies discovered
• Check trip mileage and question and correct any discrepancies
• Handle large volume of claims daily, meeting expected deadline
