ob SummaryWe are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Physician Assistant (PA) with strong knowledge of clinical documentation and medical coding to join our healthcare operations team.The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of medical terminology, diagnosis and procedure coding, clinical documentation, and healthcare billing practices. The role involves reviewing medical records, interpreting provider documentation, and accurately assigning appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.Key Responsibilities
• Review patient medical records and clinical documentation for coding accuracy and completeness.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on documentation.
• Evaluate diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and medical services documented by healthcare providers.
• Ensure coding complies with applicable coding guidelines, payer requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Identify missing, incomplete, or inconsistent clinical documentation.
• Perform chart reviews and coding audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Support medical necessity and documentation validation.
• Communicate with clinical and coding teams regarding documentation and coding-related issues.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and applicable privacy regulations.
• Stay current with updates to coding guidelines, regulations, and healthcare industry standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelors degree or equivalent qualification in Physician Assistant studies, healthcare, life sciences, or a related field.
• Physician Assistant qualification/licensure as applicable.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical documentation.
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to interpret complex medical records and clinical documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet productivity and quality targets.
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous experience in medical coding, clinical documentation review, medical auditing, or healthcare revenue cycle management.
• Experience with E/M coding and specialty-specific coding.
• Familiarity with coding compliance and medical necessity guidelines.
• CPC, CCS, or other recognized medical coding certification is a plus.
• Experience working with U.S. healthcare/medical billing processes is preferred.
