Job Description

    Job Title: Materials ManagerLocation: GuduvancheryEmployment Type: Full-timeJob SummaryThe Materials Manager is responsible for planning, procuring, storing, and controlling materials to ensure smooth production and timely delivery. The role involves vendor coordination, inventory optimization, and effective material cost management.Key Responsibilities
    • Plan and forecast material requirements based on production schedules
    • Source and procure raw materials, components, and consumables
    • Build and maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing, credit terms, and delivery timelines
    • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock availability
    • Implement inventory control systems (FIFO, minimum stock levels, reorder points, etc.)
    • Coordinate with production, procurement, stores, and logistics teams
    • Track material movement and maintain accurate records in ERP/Tally/SAP
    • Reduce material wastage and control costs
    • Ensure timely inward and outward movement of goods
    • Oversee material inspections, quality checks, and documentation
    • Prepare reports on stock status, purchase costs, consumption, and shortages
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety norms, and statutory requirements
    Skills & Qualifications
    • Bachelors degree in engineering
    • Proven experience in material planning, procurement, or inventory management
    • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems and ERP/Tally/SAP
    • Good negotiation and vendor management skills
    • Analytical mindset and problem-solving ability
    • Strong coordination and communication skills
    • Knowledge of logistics and warehousing standards
    Preferred Experience
    • 3 to 5 years
    • Experience in manufacturing or engineering industry is an added advantage
