Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications as per project and manufacturing requirements- Conduct design calculations, tolerance analysis, and engineering assessments to validate design integrity- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, procurement, and project teams to ensure designs are production-ready and cost-effective- Build and test prototypes and iterate on designs based on test results and performance evaluations- Review and validate vendor drawings, component specifications, and supplier technical submittals- Ensure all designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety norms, and regulatory requirements- Participate in design review meetings, FMEA sessions, and cross-functional technical discussions- Identify opportunities for design optimization, weight reduction, and cost savings- Prepare and maintain complete engineering documentation including design reports and change records- Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen within the mechanical design team as needed
