To put it short, we in Vestas Power Solutions are the cornerstone of Vestas - we are shaping the future of modern products.Industrialisation & VPS Excellence, Engineering Development, Engineering Development & Interface ManagementEngineering Development and Interface management is responsible for driving, defining and ensuring both short and long-term Tower CAD and detailed design targets are met across platforms and turbine systems. The department is responsible for leading the CAD work and detailed design of most Turbine Systems and the overall CAD strategy and the large assembly models across VPS into the main wind turbine CAD models. Moreover, it is also responsible for driving and defining both short and long-term TOWER CAD Strategy project targets across Products, Turbines Systems and commodity teams.Consequently, the department is responsible for ensuring flawless integration at all levels of the product and at all parts of the value chain - i.e. without collusions/interferences during assembly, installation and service through the use of advanced CAD tools and through hosting integration reviews. This responsibility will also include the future strategy and projects targeting the use of TOWER CAD throughout the digitalization of the product life cycle through initiatives such as digital mock-ups, virtual assembly, virtual factory etc.The department is also an important facilitator in the development of the parameterized and modular architecture of the TOWER CAD models in corporation with the product leads in VPS and value chain, and for driving the continued increase in standard components and modules at all levels. The responsibility spans from early engagement with the TOWER product leads and value chain to strategic development of the product architecture ensuring the optimal total value chain cost.Responsibilities

• Drive and defines Vestas TOWER CAD strategy with the support from the management team
• Drive and improve operational and functional excellence within TOWER CAD
• Align department objectives with business strategy
• Support management and the team in meeting our performance metrics (KPIs and PIs)
• Support in building a high performing team
• Support management in selecting, building and retaining strong competences in the organization
• Actively identify and involve business stakeholders across business units and functional areas
• Actively seek knowledge from external sources, conferences and stay ahead of the game
• Drive alignment across the value chain to secure that the accepted level of product complexity is delivered
• Balance operational tasks with short and long-term strategy targets

Qualifications

• Experience within CAD, PLM, Top-Down design, automation, basic scripting Knowledge
• Experience with driving and defining TOWER CAD strategic initiatives from idea generation to executional projects
• Minimum of 8 years technical leadership experience from a large organization
• Minimum a bachelor/master in relevant area, e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronic or Automotive
• Some experience with leadership would be advantageous (small task force, project or similar)
• Minimum of 5 years of working experience as Engineer
• Experience from more mature industries & International working experience such as the automotive industry would be advantageous
• Experience within standardization, modularization and engineering change management
