Job summaryAmazon Fire TV team is looking for experienced, results-oriented Support Engineer (SE) who are capable of trouble shooting issues, triaging to right teams, root causing, simple bug fixing of issues reported internally and externally to help accelerate overall release process. As an SE, the engineer will be working with experienced cross-disciplinary staff to understand the design, implementation, coding to understand overall FireTV code structure. As a support engineer, you will be working closely with lot of experience cross-vertical staff to understand the architecture, design, implementation of several components contributing to FireTV. You will also be working closely with Launch TPMs and component TPMs. As a FireTV support engineer, you will have opportunity work on building scripts, tools, mechanism and process that will help accelerating the release process. You will work with development teams, product release teams to coordinate, software fixes, and deployments. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.As a FireTV support engineer you should have a combination of solid in-depth knowledge of coding/scripting, solid understanding of the operating system software, as well as knowledge of object oriented design principles. In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team s speed, quality and efficiency.As a FireTV support engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of technologies from front-end UI (both web and device) to back-end distributed web services to device software. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment.About the teamFTVE-SDL team owns the Quarterly system release updates that goes to all existing FireTV edition devices across all regions that include NA, EU and IN. This team owns planning, execution, certification of these quarterly releases.Automation is mandatory to certify the exponential FireTV expansion. This teams owns creating the new test cases automation, Automation stabilisation, adoption and consumption. This team also owns certify FireTV remotes., B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field 2+ years of troubleshooting and root causing software, hardware, network or other technical issues 2+ years of experience in Perl, Python, Shell scripting or equivalent programming language 1+ years of experience in Linux operating system Experience with Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis Good Analytical skills. Troubleshooting of technical issues covering multiple products, features and production services Work on operations and maintenance driven coding projects, primarily in Perl, Python, Java, shell scripts, and web technologies Develop tools to aid operations and maintenance Work with the global support team (Seattle, USA and Chennai, India) for handing-off or taking over active support issues Creating a team specific knowledge base Assist in preparation and launching of new device or software products Experience with Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
