If you have a need for flexibility, then please discuss this with the Hiring Manager.This role is to predominantly support the GMO and GRS Operation Team as CCO-Cross Functional Business Partner and also be able to provide cross functional support for other BU s i.e. BI, BUK and BX functions This role is responsible for the Risk and Control frameworks across operational sites in India and support and partner global teams in the UK, USA. It supports all the functions with-in Global Market Operations and Global Reconciliation Services in the establishment and monitoring of a best in class control framework. The incumbent will manage and provide independent control oversight by assuring the production and maintenance of Risk and Control Assessments (RCSA), Operating and Design Effectiveness Testing, Risk Event reporting, and supporting issue remediation. Barclays International has a significant change agenda, which the CCO team support through the provision of due diligence and operational risk assessment of any business expansion or major change The primary focus of the role will be to provide the management support for the Risk and Controls team in providing business-unit aligned to Global Markets and GRS team with delivery of a highly visible, business focused and pragmatic operational Risk agenda to ensure compliance with Barclays policies, standards, frameworks and procedures consistently across Barclays International transaction cycles. This will require the successful candidate to establish successful engagement with key stakeholders within the Operations, Technology, and within relevant Business Units, as well as stakeholders outside India, but not limited to Internal Audit, External Audit, Compliance or Barclays Group.What will you be doing Oversight and advise on operational risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation and response and risk reporting across the relevant transaction cycles within Barclays International to operate within risk appetite and in compliance with Barclays Control Framework. Translate Ops issues to business risk and effectively communicate these risk to business stakeholders Undertaking risk and control assessments and managing presentation of risk assessments at India Management Level. Ensure that the Operational Risk metrics, assessments, and reporting are backed by correct data and that effective risk management is demonstrated Conduct regular meetings with key stakeholders, including head of Transaction Cycle, Audit, vertical CCO teams. Assist in enhancing Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) relationship with Operation, resulting in a strong partnership with BIA, targeted/accurate and effective observations, and proactive/timely closure of agreed on actions Understanding of the regional operational and regulatory environment and its impact leading to proactive assessment of regulatory exposure and supporting management in escalating concerns. Identify, report and manage Operational risk events and resulting issues / actions for management visibility and awareness Provide regular updates, facilitate regular Operational Risk and control governance / forums for the function to properly identify, track, and resolve risk and actions. Provide input and escalate risk actions and updates to these committees Establish and maintain an effective risk cultureWhat we re looking for: Bachelor s degree or Post Graduate (CA/MBA or equivalent)/ Risk management qualification with an experience of 10+ years equivalent work experience. Practical experience of internal control and operational risk management Comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks and processes, and all aspects of operational risk management. Ability to communicate internal control concepts clearly, in a business context Experience in assessing design and operating effectiveness of operational controls Impeccable problem-solving and communication skills, including experience presenting to senior level leadership Strong analytical skills with operational backgroundSkills that will help you in the role: Proven leadership experience in an Operational Control environment or Risk and Control role Credibility and gravitas to challenge and coach upwards, horizontally as well as own leadership of team members; facilitate the effective collaboration of cross-functional teams Experience in financial services and specifically the Global Markets products sets and business, with a wide ranging understanding of the Investment Banking Markets and Trading business globally and associated risks specifically. Proven depth of expertise in strategy execution, with experience of leading change across global and cross-functional teams. Proven track record of working successfully in different cultures in a sensitive manner in order to create strong working relationships with key senior stakeholders. Strong working knowledge of the regulations and standards of relevant industry bodies and organizations. Experience of continuous process and control improvement for both efficiency and risk management purposes. Credible experience leveraging advanced data analytics to inform decision making and influence senior stakeholders. Collaborative and able to share best practices at all levels. Able to cope under pressure, managing a wide range of priorities with multiple objectives. Politically astute and able to understand the dynamics of large, complex organizations.
