The Group:The IWPT Data Platform team at Morningstar is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to lead the development and maintenance of our Investor applications built with Node.js backend and Vue.js frontend. These applications play a crucial role in delivering data for investor and market research articles within their financial systems.The Role:We are looking for a Software Engineer who specializes in full-stack development on modern cloud-based infrastructure to join our team, grow with us, introduce us to new ideas and develop products that empower our users. You will have technical product ownership and responsibility for ensuring process and quality adherence through code reviews, test coverage and overall governance. You will act as the software guardian, owning non-functional requirements, and the quality of the code while addressing technical debt. Every day, youll work with team members across disciplines developing products for our clients. You will partner with product owners and designers to understand our domain and create technical solutions that push us forward. You will be a co-owner of the product, responsible for its development and overall quality.Responsibilities:

• Development and maintenance of Investor and DFD applications using Vue.js, Nuxt.js, Storybook, Javascript and Node.js, GraphQL, deployed on an AWS cloud platform.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to diagnose and resolve complex issues across both FrontEnd and BackEnd applications.
• Design and implement improvements to enhance the reliability, performance, and user experience of our applications.
• Document development processes, troubleshooting techniques, and solutions to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Friendly and enjoys working in a collaborative team with excellent spoken and written communication skills. Humble, honest, and to the point.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in building reactive Single-Page Web Applications.
• Experience with several of the following:
  • Javascript application frameworks like Nuxt and Vue
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like CloudFormation and Terraform
  • CI/CD tools like Jenkins, and Harness
  • Building and deploying containerized applications
  • Proficiency in Vue.js, Nuxt.js, React.js, or any JavaScript platform, along with Node.js, GraphQL for developing and maintaining Morningstar applications.
  • Deep understanding of application development.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases and queries.

Nice to have:

• Experience scaling web-based software applications and services.
• An understanding of how to protect web applications and services from common security vulnerabilities.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services technologies like CloudFront, S3, API gateway, ECS, Elastic Search, and ElastiCache.
• Experience building and maintaining automated continuous deployment pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining automated testing tools.
