Fulfillment Centers throughout the Globe handle millions of items from tens of thousands of vendors and ships them across the globe each day. The successful IT Support Engineer III will be responsible for utilizing his/her skills to provide assistance to the operations team in resolving technical problems within the Fulfillment Center that cover a multitude of technical disciplines. This position is the third level of support for the operations of the Fulfillment Center and serves as a resource to Technical Support Technicians and Engineers while also acting as a representative of the IT department to internal customers. They must possess superior technical aptitude, written and oral communications skills and the ability to deal effectively with people in a wide variety of situations. Additionally they must possess strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability. Proven ability to operate in extreme high pressure situations, successfully handle multiple priorities and possess a high level of discipline while remaining flexible. They must possess superior people skills dealing with all levels of a team environment up to and including presentations and explanation of projects to upper level management. Regular activities include network engineering and troubleshooting, project management, mentor-ship of Technical Support Technicians, data cabling, systems administration in a variety of software and hardware environments, telecom/PBX administration, root cause analysis in problem solving, and assistance in managing the daily activities of the department.Keeps team focused on delivering results. Creates work plans and monitors accomplishments. Able to prioritize work for the team in line with business priorities. Develops and maintains productive working relationships. Maintains poise under pressure. Contributes to strategic discussions with senior management. Keeps others informed of information that contributes to the performance of the team, department or company. Exercises good business judgment when making decisions, and knows when to escalate higher level decisions. Is able to discuss technical issues with nontechnical customers, and represent the IT organization in meetings. Strong verbal and written communication skill.Acts as a mentor for more junior employees and assists in their career development, Participates in recruiting best talent efforts and training level 1-4 employees, Coaches and mentors Engineers and Technicians across the network. Is able to work autonomously and provide technical direction to level 1-4 employees. Assists in evaluation of new technology and develops processes or procedures for technical support.Provides Operational Excellence technical leadership, identifies root causes and implements permanent solutions, Automates tasks with scripts, Writes standard operating procedures and technical documentation.Teaches department policies and procedures to others.Uses network and system administration skills to effectively support local site infrastructure, should understands core internet protocols such as DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SMTP, the TCP/IP suite, and the OSI model.Is able to escalate complex issues, clearly communicating the troubleshooting steps taken and the business impact and participates in Operational Excellence programs.Communicate with operations and support partners as the main point of contact for the IT team when the manager is not present. Provides technical leadership for the team.Supervises vendors and business partners manages large or cross functional projects. Creates project plans, identifies stakeholders and effectively communicates status. Provides input and advice to team leadership leading technical project team. Minimum 8-9 Years of experience which include minimum 3-5 years as Sr. Engineer.
