The Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka is recruiting a TRADE FACILITATOR with expertise and experience from working with trade and business in an international and / or a Nordic / Swedish context.The Embassy represents the Swedish Government in Bangladesh and is responsible for strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in a range of different areas. It has a staff of close to 40 people. The Embassy has a mission to promote political contacts, support Swedish trade and investments and work with development cooperation in and with Bangladesh. It is responsible for promoting cultural exchange, people-to-people contacts and spreading information about Sweden in Bangladesh. The Embassy also provides consular support to Swedish citizens and issues visas and permits for Bangladeshis and third country citizens. For more information about the Swedish Embassy, please visit: Within the area of trade and economic cooperation, the Embassy works to deepen and expand bilateral trade relations and works to support an improved business climate for Swedish companies. It also supports individual Swedish companies in select business related matters and can give initial guidance to Swedish companies looking to establish themselves in Bangladesh.The Embassy is now looking for a qualified Trade facilitator for the Political, Trade and Communication Section. The main task will be to contribute to achieving the objectives of Swedish Governments trade priorities, promoting trade and investment between the two countries and promote Swedish companies who already have business in Bangladesh or want to establish themselves in the country.As an employee at the Embassy, you would represent Sweden, promote Swedish priorities and values and contribute to the benefit of Sweden-Bangladesh relations.The work is executed in close collaboration within the Development Cooperation team at the Embassy. You will be reporting to the Head of the Section, but you will also work closely with the Ambassador and the thematic program officers in the Embassy.Main Job ResponsibilitiesThe main task of the TRADE FACILITATOR is to handle all issues related to finance and accounting. This includes:

• Assist in the overall Swedish export promotion, trade facilitation, trade diplomacy and business development in Bangladesh in collaboration with Team Sweden.
• Liaising between the Embassy in Dhaka and Business Sweden in New Delhi for the purpose of strengthening the commercial ties between Sweden and Bangladesh.
• Keep updated with Swedish and Bangladeshi policies and economic development with regards to trade and sustainable business, including EU regulatory frameworks e.g. GSP .
• Assist in the co-organization of trade and/or investment promotion events, co-facilitate matchmakings and accompanying delegations of Swedish companies and other trade delegations.
• Promoting and facilitating CSR and sustainable business to Bangladeshi and Swedish companies as per Swedish corporate standards of excellence. Promote and facilitate the Green and Just transformation in Bangladesh.
• Represent the Embassy in relevant seminars, webinars and other trade events as per economic and strategic interests of Sweden-Bangladesh bilateral trade relations.
• Actively taking part in finding and developing synergies between trade and development cooperation sections and strengthening transitions through economic partnership (Aid Trade).

Professional Skills and Competencies

• University Degree in Economics or Business administration or equivalent academic qualification.
• At least two years experience in similar roles in international organizations, Embassies, large non-governmental organizations or private sector/international business.
• Ability to initiate and work independently, as well as capacity to meet deadlines with a high level of quality and accuracy.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate in a clear and concise way.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. We seek someone who is flexible, and who can organize and plan their work and has the ability to work well in a team and respect individual differences.
• Very good knowledge of English in speech and writing.
• Excellent IT skills, especially high proficiency in Excel and MS Office
